UNO has been the game of choice for the Antetokounmpo brothers, including in the NBA Bubble where they played then ESPN anchor Rachel Nichols, so the collaboration was a perfect fit. The game includes special “Force a Turnover” rule card where a player can steal a discard or “force a turnover”. As a part of the partnership, Mattel has also released a special edition Nike Zoom Freak 3 UNO Card Game featuring colours and graphics from the shoe.
The Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nike and Mattel collaboration was first announced last October where the shoe was revealed alongside an Air Force 1 and Offline. A nod to his jersey number, a 3 and 4 card are featured with the Nike logo on top. The UNO 50th-anniversary logo and the Greek Freak’s initials are included on the tongue and insoles of the left and right shoe respectively. The five-pair special edition collection will come in five UNO-inspired colorways ―yellow, red, blue, green and black. What’s the release date? Well, that would be today.
